We're all currently on a Summer Holiday!

Usually I blog about our holiday after we have returned,so this year I thought I would take the opportunity of half an hour in the early evening sun to write a short piece. We are back at Piynar Villa hotel in Turkey which has now been our holiday destination for four years. It's a little piece of heaven and this year the weather has been gorgeous, and our lovely friends Sevgi and Mustapha who own the place have made us feel as welcome as ever. A few changes. No longer the smooth service of their son Murat who is furthering his career in the hotel world in LA, but the more comedic antics of one Ferudon as head waiter who has been variously nicknamed Freddy or Femidom. Rather bizarrely the villas are full of people we have met over the years so in this our second week only one villa is occupied by a couple we do not know. It's like a small village getting together for two weeks each summer.  We've done the boat trips, the Turkish baths, and the market and we've lounged by our lovely pool and done very little. Perhaps next year might see a change and we might just come here for the second week after a weeks sailing, but it does still seem impossible to think that a visit to Piynar will not be part of our year. It's nice to ring Mum each evening and know that she is being looked after, although the vagaries of Turkish Internet sometimes mean that Skype is not as effective as it might be. Today's its been over 42C and that means virtually a whole day spent horizontal with a kindle. But what could be better. Filming awaits on my return and I know at east one of my fellow Piynar residents will be avidly reading this, so I'm giving a big shout out to Janice. Not that she isn't perfectly capable of giving a big shout herself!
